Privacy Policy
Ergane Commv ("Cofamly", "We", "Us") values the privacy of your family. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Cofamly mobile application (the "App") and our website.
1. Information We Collect
To assist separated parents and families in organizing their daily lives, we collect the following types of information:
A. Account & Profile Information
- Parent/User Data: Name, email address
- Child Data: Name (or nickname) and optionally date of birth., the school they go to, school contact information, hobbies. This is used solely to link calendar events, communication messages and expenses to a specific child.
- Family Links: Email addresses of co-parents or third parties (e.g., mediators, grandparents) you explicitly invite to your "Co-famly."
B. User-Generated Content ("Family Data")
The core function of Cofamly is to store and display the data you enter:
- Cofamly Calendar: Appointments, custody schedules, and drop-off locations.
- Cofamly Loops: Notes regarding the child's health, mood, or school.
- Cofamly Split: Amounts, descriptions, and receipts/images of expenses.
C. Technical & Device Data
- Device Information: Model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (e.g., IDFA/Android ID, strictly for app functionality).
- Push Notification Tokens: A unique token generated by your device to allow us to send you updates (e.g., "New event added").
D. Subscription & Purchase Data
When you subscribe to Cofamly Plus, we collect and process subscription-related data, including your subscription status, purchase history, and the app store account identifier associated with your purchase. This data is processed in part by RevenueCat (see Section 3C below).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data exclusively to provide and improve the Cofamly Service:
- Core Functionality: To sync your schedule, expenses, and journal entries with your co-parent.
- Notifications: To alert you of new activities (via push notifications).
- Support: To respond to your inquiries or technical issues.
- Subscription Management: To manage your Cofamly Plus account status and verify your entitlements across devices.
Strict Privacy Commitment: We do not access, read, or analyze your private Journal or Calendar content for marketing purposes. We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties.
3. Data Sharing and Service Providers
We do not share your personal information with third parties, except for the specific technical service providers listed below who help us operate the App. These parties are contractually bound to protect your data and only use it for the services they provide to us.
A. Infrastructure & Hosting
- Cloud Hosting (e.g., AWS/Google Cloud): Our secure servers and databases are hosted by industry-leading cloud providers located within the EU/EEA (unless otherwise specified).
B. Notifications
- Expo: We use Expo to facilitate the delivery of push notifications to your device. To do this, we send a technical notification token and the message content (e.g., "New event") to Expo, which then relays it to Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM).
C. Subscriptions & Payments
RevenueCat: We actively use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements and purchase history for Cofamly Plus subscribers across iOS and Android. When you subscribe, the following data is shared with RevenueCat:
- Your app store account identifier (e.g., an anonymised App Store or Google Play ID)
- Your subscription status and tier (e.g., monthly or yearly)
- Purchase receipts issued by Apple or Google, used solely to verify and validate your subscription
RevenueCat acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually bound to protect this data. They do not have access to your family's personal journal entries, calendar events, photos, or any other family content stored in the App. You can review RevenueCat's privacy practices at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
App Stores: Payments are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Cofamly does not store your credit card information.
4. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: We retain your family data for as long as your account is active to provide the service.
- Deleted Accounts: If you request account deletion, your personal data is removed from our active databases. Backup copies (used for disaster recovery) may remain for a limited period but are encrypted and not accessed.
- Subscription Data: Subscription records held by RevenueCat are subject to their own retention policy. You may request deletion of your RevenueCat data by contacting us at cofamly@ergane.studio and we will coordinate the request on your behalf.
5. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest for sensitive database fields. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel only when necessary for technical support.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under Belgian and EU law (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (most can be edited directly in the App).
- Export your data.
- Delete your account.
- Object to processing in certain circumstances.

7. Children's Privacy
Cofamly is a tool for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under the age of 13. Any data regarding children (e.g., names, schedules) is provided solely by the parent or guardian who has the legal authority to do so.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via email.
