Understanding User Roles in a Family

In Cofamly, there are two types of users in a family: co-parents and others (also known as 'Third Parties' in the system). Co-parents have full control over creating and managing family-related features, while 'Others' have more limited access. A known bug sometimes mistakenly assigns a co-parent the 'Other' role, restricting their ability to create new items.

Checking Your Role

To verify your role, open Cofamly, navigate to your family, and go to the 'Members' tab. Then, click on 'Users'. Here, you can check your assigned role within the family—either as a 'Co-Parent' or 'Other'. If you are incorrectly labeled as 'Other', this may be the cause of the issue. In some cases, you may be recognized as a parent but still unable to create new data. First, try the solutions mentioned in this article. If the problem persists, do not hesitate to contact our support team.

Fixing the Issue

If the system mistakenly identifies you as an 'Other' user, you can resolve this issue using one of the following methods: 1. Add or Join Another Family - Create a new family or join an existing one. This forces the system to reevaluate your permissions, often correcting the error automatically. 2. Restart the App - Close and reopen Cofamly. In many cases, this refreshes your permissions and restores access to your full features.
